Keep smiling!

Last week I watched CNN, it said that at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center there are clinical trials on whether laughter is a healing power. A five-year-old boy Shawn Mellen has pneumonia, and his doctors dropped by with his lunch. Everyday Dr. Stubs, Dr. tricky, and Dr. Noodles have their clown rounds. Researchers want to get a handle on the medical impact the clown care unit may have on the patients. The doctors find that when they come into a hospital room, the energy is usually fairly low. And through music, through juggling, through fun, they get that energy vibrating. They think the best time to leave is when the whole room is shimmering with positive, vital, life energy. After the patients being in uncomfortable states in surgery, the clown helps kind of bring the patients back to their childhood and want them to get out of that unit and facilitate their healing.

But there is no hard evidence that clowns really do help the healing process. Hence, the study will keep year- long at this hospital. The doctors measure the physiological indices such as heart rate, blood pressure, amount of medications given, amount of time in the recovery room. There is plenty of anecdotal proof that clowns make both the patients and the parents feel better. The parents feel it relieves a lot of tension, especially when they are waiting. I believe that laughter may indeed be the best medicine.

I believe when people in a bad mood for a long time he or she will get disease. And laughter and good mood will help people’s immune system to kill the virus and bacteria. I have read a journal that actually everyone has the cancer cells in our body. In normal condition, our immune system can produce body to kill the cancer cells. But when people frustrated, or bid depression, the immune system will be weak. So the cancer cells will reproduce quickly. And then people get cancer. I think the best way to keep away from decease is keep a good mood everyday, keep the regulated daily life, and have the healthy diet.

Keep smiling, away from decease!
